Hematologic Paraneoplastic Syndrome in Newly Diagnosed Patients with Lung Cancer

Introduction: Lung cancer could have signs and symptoms generated by paraneoplastic syndromes. This study aimed to describe analyze hematologic syndrome in patients with lung Indonesia. Methods: was a cross-sectional analytic conducted Persahabatan National Respiratory Referral Hospital, Jakarta, between September 2018 February 2019, on all newly diagnosed whose diagnosis established who fulfilled the inclusion exclusion criteria. Results: The mean age of subjects 56.7 ± 11.4 years old. Most were male, had normal nutritional status (42.6%), smoking history (75%), moderate Brinkman Index (BI) value (52%). most common type histology squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) (39.7%), advanced stage (83.8%) performance <2 (94.1%). Paraneoplastic anemia 40.4%, associated poor commonly normocytic normochromic anemia. proportion leukocytosis 39%, males history. neutrophilia 51.5%, it related males, history, SCC type. hypereosinophilia thrombocytosis proportions 2.9% 18.4%, respectively. hypercoagulability 91.2%, which caused elevated D-dimer level. Conclusion: syndromes hypercoagulability, neutrophilia, low hemoglobin (Hb) level body mass index (BMI). Male and/or neutrophilia.
